Easter Resurrection hymn: In the garden, walking, weeping
1 In the garden, walking, weeping,
Mary came at break of dawn.
All the sorrow, all the anguish
made her figure lost, forlorn.
2 All the fragrance of that garden
couldn't take away her fear;
coming through the dancing shadows
sunshine could not calm or cheer.
3 In the corner of the garden
was the tomb where he'd been laid.
Her intention was to hold him,
feel again the love he gave.
4 Now she saw the tomb was empty,
heard a gardener call her name,
turning round she saw him, Jesus,
one who'd reached her through her shame.
5 Sunshine cut through clouds of mourning,
for his death had come and gone,
silencing the dirge of sorrow,
now she'd sing a sweeter song.

Easter now – hymn – We would be an Easter people
We would be an Easter people
1 We would be an Easter people
living resurrection now,
making all those years of promise
real, as Jesus shows us how.
2 Meeting Mary, Jesus loved her,
calling to her by her name.
Those who need the love of Jesus
we will welcome just the same.
3 'Peace be with you' was Christ's greeting
to the ones who'd let him die.
May our greeting be as gracious
to the ones who'd spurn our cry..
4 Doubting Thomas was confounded;
Jesus loved him in his doubt.
Help us welcome saint and sceptic
as we work your purpose out.
5 Let us live the resurrection
in each time, in every place.
Let us live as Easter people,
true to Jesus' boundless grace.

God’s commandments link together – hymn for Easter 5
A hymn for the fifth Sunday of Easter – ‘God's commandments link together’
1 God's commandments link together
justice, mercy, love and grace;
elements to guide the framing
of our laws within this place.
Yet the laws and legal judgments
that we form through human thought,
all too easily diminish
values that the Christ had sought.
2 As we follow in his footsteps
as disciples, let us find,
ways to live in peace together,
ways that bring God's grace to mind;
ways of gracious peaceful living,
that might spread throughout the earth,
ways of God's audacious giving:
let the spirit find new birth.
